Lifting and revitalizing threads rejuvenate and stimulate the skin to produce collagen and elastane fibers. On the one hand, it is a facelift without a scalpel, and on the other hand, their action is similar to tissue stimulators. Depending on the indications, we use PDO threads, hook threads, P(LA/CL) threads, and revitalizing threads.

Hook threads
Hook threads are lifting threads that lift the skin up and model the face, emphasizing its natural facial features. PDO threads do not add volume to the face and do not paralyze mimic muscles. Treatments using hook threads give spectacular results in a short time and without a long period of convalescence. A quick return to everyday duties, a long-lasting effect and a less invasive method than in the case of a surgical facelift make lifting with the use of PDO threads willingly chosen by our patients
Revitalizing threads
Revitalizing threads are used to rebuild and stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. Their task is not to lift the skin, but to revitalize it. Revitalizing threads cause the reconstruction of the skin, its thickening and firming. Their action can be compared to tissue stimulators.
Threads – what are they made of?
At our Institute, we use PDO and P(LA/CL) threads. How do they differ from each other? PDO is short for polydioxanone, from which the fibers used in these threads are made. Polydioxanone has been used for years in surgical procedures due to its high safety and complete absorption. PDO threads can be used both for lifting and revitalizing the skin. P(LA/CL) threads strongly stimulate the skin to produce collagen and elastin. They work similarly to a stimulator and take longer than PDO threads to decompose in the skin. P(LA/CL) threads consist of polycaprolactone and polylactic acid naturally occurring in our body. They are used for lifting and revitalization.

Procedure
Treatment with PDO and P(LA/CL) threads is a procedure performed under local anesthesia. It begins after the consultation, during which the doctor explains the procedure and agrees with the patient on possible effects. Lifting threads are inserted under the skin using a special cannula, which is not painful for the patient, but may cause discomfort. In turn, revitalizing threads are introduced. The procedure lasts 30-60 minutes. After the procedure, follow the instructions.
Effects
PDO and P(LA/CL) threads lift the skin from the inside, remove wrinkles, so-called a second chin, improve the oval of the face, model the shape of the nose. Depending on the type of threads used, the effects last from several to several dozen months!

FAQ
How to prepare for the procedure using PDO threads?
A few days before the procedure, the patient should stop taking medications that interfere with blood clotting, e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen, preparations containing ginkgo biloba. Before you sign up for the procedure, tell about all diseases and medications you take. On the day of the procedure, patient should not use the sauna, solarium or sunbathing.
What are the contraindications?
- pregnancy and breastfeeding,
- viral, bacterial and fungal infections (including cold sores)
- cancers
- therapy with anticoagulants
- hemophilia and bleeding disorders
- tendencies to form keloids
- mental disorders
What are the post-treatment recommendations?
The recovery period after treatments with PDO and P(LA/CL) threads lasts about 4 weeks. In the event of disturbing symptoms, we are always at the patient’s disposal during the consultation. Following the recommendations guarantees the success of the procedure, so it is worth reading the following information:
- Give up makeup!
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after the procedure.
- For the first week after the procedure, the patient should sleep on his back, propped up on pillows. Do not sleep on our side and try not to press the treated area
- For the first month, the patient cannot use facial massages, rollers, or rubbing the treated areas
- It is important to give up wide opening of the mouth and intensive chewing
- A visit to the dentist is possible at the earliest one month after the procedure with the use of PDO threads
- For a month, the patient should avoid intense physical effort and limit activities to walking
- Do not use other aesthetic medicine treatments, such as laser or radiofrequency. Remember to always inform your doctor about previous treatments!
Is a thread lift painful?
No, the treatment with PDO threads is not painful. We use local anesthesia. The patient may feel discomfort when inserting the thread under the skin.
Nose correction – how long will the effect last?
The effect of such treatment lasts for several months, up to a year. Non-surgical rhinoplasty with PDO threads is a great solution for people who cannot or do not want to undergo nose surgery.
Hypercorrection – what is it?
Hypercorrection is used in the treatment with lifting threads, because the skin after the procedure will naturally begin to fall. The doctor, wanting to get a good effect of the procedure, lifts the skin a little higher. This is why a facelift immediately after the procedure seems to be overdone.
What complications can occur after the procedure?
Like any procedure, this one carries a risk of complications. They can be reduced to a minimum by strictly following the post-treatment instructions. After lifting or revitalization with the use of threads, redness at the puncture site, swelling, slight bruising, irritation, and the impression of asymmetry may occur. The skin may be wrinkled, there may be pain with mimic movements. Symptoms pass 2-7 days after the procedure. In case of doubt, consult the doctor performing the procedure.
